I coded my own pingback and trackback mechanisms for my blog here (using other peoples code) and to test them at that time, I used pingomation which was located at redalt.com. Unfortunately he had a server crash and pingomation has been gone since. So I coded my own tool set available to all which allows testing of sending and receiving pingbacks and trackbacks. You can use these to verify pingbacks/tracbacks are working on your blog, or to verify your code is working if you're writing your own..
