Wow talk about an easy upgrade. I needed to play .mkv files on my mythtv box, but the xine-lib on there is ancient since it's a stable version, like 1.0.1-1. I just grabbed the latest source from the xine site, xine-lib-1.1.3, ran configure, and then ran checkinstall (which surprisingly worked) and I was off and running. Debian rocks!
