Well I attempted to upgrade my main system this weekend, which was still running dapper. Just to edgy mind you. I have 2 disks mirrored, and after the 3 hours of downloading and installing packages, it simply wouldn't work. The mirrors were not recognized. So after messing around with rescue (RIP) linux trying to just boot off the straight ext3 partition (which still didn't work), it kept dropping to initramfs. So thankfully being mirrored, I pulled the cable on the second drive, wiped the first drive and installed Feisty. The only problem I ran into after that was with my nvidia card, I got this error:

"Unable to get display device CRT-0's EDID"

And I fixed this by adding the following to /etc/X11/xorg.conf:
     Option "UseEDID"         "FALSE"

in the Device section. I knew the upgrade might bonk out like that but what the heck, I had to try..
