It was just reported that National Lampoon has acquired the rights to release and distribute the movie "The Beach Party at the Threshold of Hell". The movie debuted last year at the Los Angeles Film Festival and has reportedly been a hit at festivals all over. I'd say this is a pretty big boon, and I know from emailing Jamie Bullock who stars as "Cannibal Sue" in the movie that they have alot more in the works, specifically a comic that will be released in February 08, launching a new website, a video podcast, and they are also pitching the tv series. Wow that's alot. Let's hope we get another PA TV series!

National Lampoon plans to release release the movie to theaters in the fall, and to home video in the first quarter of 2008. (Jamie said specifically February 08 for home video release).


The movie set 20 years in the future after the fall of the U.S. It was written by and stars Kevin Wheatley, who also co-directed with Jonny Gillette. Check the trailer link for a further description.
