This has to be the greatest time period for films ever because I just found another post apocalyptic zombie movie. Is anyone sick of these yet? I'm sure not. I also don't think it has anything to do with the video game which also is being made into a movie. The Rising Dead is currently available on dvd. Ok ok, so you want a synopsis you say, bam:
"War breaks out world wide. World leaders decide to fight using Biological weapons. While testing in Langley Virginia a biological outbreak causes the dead to rise. The epidemic spreads faster that any one could imagine. Even the president of the U.S. isn’t immune, recently bitten by an effected zombie he decides to seek shelter for his wife and handicapped son. The only safe place for them is a nuclear fallout shelter, getting there is the problem! Mr. Blake a special force agent is assigned to escort the first lady and entourage to the location, unfortunately the airplane they are on crash lands miles away from their destination. Caught in a tropical setting the few that survive are pitted against hordes of flesh eating zombies. When some of the survivors are bitten by the infected zombies things start to spiral out of control. Running out of bullets Mr. Blake will half to pull out all his skills to find a way to complete his mission. When the end is near will humanity still prevail, and can the human spirit out last this pestilence?"
The trailer is here.

I survived Return of the Living Dead: Rave to the Grave and Necropolis. In fact, I own them :)
With this said, it looks like this will be much better than those two just by the some of the special effects alone. The woman getting the spike driven through the back of her head, out through her mouth, as well as the splat and spray of the heavy object falling on another zombie.
It does look like there is concept confusion with the zombies. For example, breaking through a door, Romero's zombies would never have been able to smash a door like that (without an object) where as Snyder's zombies or Boyle's Rage infected robably could have.
Another example, the speed of the zombies look to alternate between the two concepts.
Definitely worth a look at the film.

I'm going to try and get a copy from the distributor York to review, if not I will just get it off netflix and do one, but I've got a couple lined up before that!

For some reason the producers name showed through on every fade to black and the DVD menus were a mess. What's the deal with that?
I liked the backdrop of Hawaii but think they could have done a bit better in the story department to use those locations.

Bad Acting, Bad Story, Bad effects and its another OMG! Blair Witch wannabie Lowbudget make a profit movie, to be honest no one has made a good Zombie Horror in a long time the best and still is today my faveourite Dawn of the Dead Orginal (Yes thats my Opionin).

Probably the worst zombie show i've ever had the misfortune to watch and i've watched quite a few.Horrendous acting, script, effects and dialogue make this THE movie to give all zombie shows a bad name.Avoid at all cost!
