Go-Bots are to the figurines, as this is to the movie. Seriously, it doesn't bear much resemblance, rather it cops a half matrix style, and the robots that come decimate the earth, killing 90% of the population. I've watched part of it and I have to say it's pretty decent.
"A race of alien robots has conquered the Earth and forced humanity underground. After three hundred years of domination, a small group of humans develop a plan to defeat the mechanical invaders in the ultimate battle between man and machine."
