For those who've read the incredibly trippy Metamorphasis, you can really tell something is up with Kafka which makes this adaption all the better because it not only shows the story of the man turning into the bug, but it also intertwines it with a heartbreaking account of Kafka's writing process. This isn't the first movie that's been done about our main man, the first was actually called just "Kafka" and was done by Steven Soderbergh. I actually own it on VHS. If I remember correctly this was loosely based on the story "The Castle". Metamorphasis is currently in pre-production and shooting has been scheduled for the summer of 2008.
Stephen Rea will reportedly be playing Kafka, I don't know about that..
