Hello my fine post apocalyptic friends.. I receieved email from Mark Roush, director and co-owner of the new webisode series Lady Wasteland which will have the first episode go live at 12:01AM tonight (it doesn't specify timezone but I'm guessing PT), so here's the press release. We'll probably follow up on this tomorrow once I've actually seen it.

PRESS RELEASE

Wasteland Films LLC's new webisode series, Lady Wasteland, launches website featuring the first of seven pilot episodes.

Portland, OR November 30th, 2007
Wasteland Films LLC has launched its new post-apocalyptic webisode series Lady Wasteland. Episode One: A Piece of Food, went live Friday morning at 12:01am .

Each episode is being released weekly starting November 30th, uploaded to dozens of video sharing sites free of charge.

The structure of the pilot series is designed around three separate stories that intersect and parallel one another. For later episodes there will be numerous sub-plots coming into play -- involving new characters and situations that will have effects on future episodes dealing with our lead characters. Everything is connected... everything has meaning.

In this story, there is no set geographic location for where the series takes place. Creators Mark Roush and Greg Demchak were of firm belief that one of the last places you'd find survivors in a post apocalyptic environment would be in the desert wearing leather jackets and driving around in dune buggies.

After recording the show's score at Firehouse Studios in Pasadena, Roush knew the haunting and disturbing tone of composer Rob Simonsen's music would enhance the overall atmosphere of the storyline and bring with it the proper emotional complexity that the series requires.

Based upon the recent success of many post-apocalyptic and dystopian-esque stories such as Cormac McCarthy's "The Road", the feature film Children of Men and the up and coming release of Will Smith's new film, "I am Legend", Wasteland Films believes the entertainment market is prime for the return of the post-apocalyptic genre.

Steps are also being made to offer the episodes as free downloadable videos for portable media players and cells phones. Our flagship site is located at www.ladywasteland.com, which also goes live November 30th.

Welcome to the wasteland. Enjoy the decay.
