quietearth [Celluloid 01.09.08] movie news horror

Writer, director, and star Cory McAbee, of the cult black and white, scifi, comedy musical The American Astronaut, is supposed to be doing the works on a new project called Werewolf Hunter for Periscope Entertainment?! I recently looked Cory up to see if he was working on anything, but I never thought he would go this route. I really don't see how he could inject his peculiar sense of humor into a horror film, but hey, you never know. Let's hope this leads to bigger and better things regardless, the guy has serious talent.

"The film follows an old man who passes on the ways of werewolf hunting to a young drifter. While a werewolf infects a young transient and introduces him to werewolf life."

Well, there's no way it's a straight 'monster movie', who knows though. The screenplay was apparently titled 'Werewolf Hunters of the Midwest'.

Your right, I just looked it up and the screenplay is penned by Cory himself. I also found a synopsis:

"An old man passes on the ways of werewolf hunting to a young drifter. While a werewolf infects a young transient and introduces him to werewolf life."

Oh and it's also a rock musical with music performed by the Bill Nayer Show. I'm digging it.
