Maybe it's just Doomsday fever that's got me all excited about this Neil Marshall-less sequel to Dog Soldiers but I wanted to take the time to alert all you more die hard werewolf fans to keep an eye out for it because man did ever love the first one.
Written and directed by Rob Green, who hasn't made a film since 2001's WWII horror flick The Bunker, Dog Soldiers 2 is said to "begin right at the end of the first film, were Cooper is picked up by an American team who, we find out, were the real opponents for the war games for Sgt. Wells’ squad. We discover more werewolves that we didn’t know about from the first movie, who may or may not be part of the family. There’s more action, more gore and there are definitely more werewolves. It’s all out in the woods again, with plenty of guns and blood."
Synopsis: “In the highland forest, Captain Ryan (Liam Cunningham) and his Special Forces Unit, which includes Sergeant Walker, are spying on the squad of British Soldiers who have been set up as bait for a family of bloodthirsty werewolves. However, the werewolves attack the Special Forces Unit first. The new pack is in fact the surviving members of Captain Ryan's SAS team now transformed into werewolves, but they have retained trace memories of their commando training. The new werewolves are faster, deadlier and smarter than the original Highland werewolves. These are true Dog Soldiers - and they are hungry for fresh meat. “

For such a simple, overdone storyline (minus the werewolves), Dog Soldiers was really good. I don't know about a sequel that doesn't have Marshall though..

Why Americans? God, this is a very British film; does Hollywood have to invade everything? Make your own werewolf movies!................
