Well folks, we're one day away from the limited release premier of George Romero's Diary of the Dead, and I for one have had my tickets for 2 weeks. I'll be skipping out of work early tomorrow afternoon to see the first showing, and to say I'm excited is a serious understatement. I've heard so many good things about this, one of them being it's not standard Romero. For those living in a time warp, Diary of the Dead is Romero's retake on the zombie genre, meaning not a sequel, and really looks at the whole thing from Day 1 in a first person Blair Witch style perspective. This POV has become very popular lately, being employed in Cloverfield, [REC], and Paranormal Activity among others. While many may think this new technique detracts, I enjoy it as long as it's used properly and I think it's something we'll be seeing alot more of. Clips after the break!
