Westerns are certainly coming back in style, but with a decidedly more contemporary flare. Does everyone want to be Sergio Leone? It sure seems like it, and I for one am seriously digging it. This is Kim Ji-Woon's "Oriental Western" and it deals with the story of three Korean outlaws in 1930s Manchuria and their dealings with the Japanese army and Chinese and Russian bandits. Looks like they're shooting for a Cannes screening and a July release! Footage following.
