For better or worse Ed Neumeier just can’t let go of Starship Troopers. He penned the original Verhoeven classic as well as the risible Hero of the Federation, and has now taken on directing duties on the 3rd straight to DVD installment, Marauder. But can a third bug stomping film kickstart a floundering franchise?

Word from WonderCon is that steady Eddy got a bit of guidance from "Uncle Paul" (AKA Mr. Verhoeven)while making the film. Personally I love the first Starship Troopers so I’m hopeful that under the watchful eye of both Neumeier and Verhoeven this third installment will retain some of the whimsical irony and social commentary that made that film so great. Unfortunately some of the FX featured in this trailer give away the film's tight budget but c'mon... Casper Van Dien is back!

Synopsis: “The war against the Bugs continues! Johnny Rico is now a colonel, and called back into action to defeat the bugs.”

I'm glad they're making the third one more like the first movie. The second, was a let down. Cheers!
