Fugees member and artist Pras Michel has optioned the rights for both tv and film to cult comic book Dark Oz published by Caliber Comics. The story follows Dorothy and company in a more gothic and macabre version of Oz. Pras plans to make three feature length films which will be live action and the screenplay is adapted by the original comic creators: Aaron Denenberg, Ralph Griffith and Stuart Kerr. Pras intends to begin production at the end of 2008 and oddly enough, will also be playing the scarecrow. Don't worry folks, this guy does have some experience, he was a producer on the upcoming The Mutant Chronicles which we're all dying to see. The Dark Oz comic homepage is following.
