Wow, it's kind of of hard to believe that this is actually news considering Death Note's already been a smash in Japan and has even seen a sequel hit theaters but here we are. Due to the fact that it's actually going to see the light of day as a proper release out here in the West we thought we'd share this trailer with all of you who've yet to hear, read, or see anything about this adventurous manga adaptation.
The lads over at Fangoria were the first to break the news that Viz Media would be releasing the film and made a point of remarking on the trailer's horrible English dubbing. Word is, this is being rectified for the theatrical release though so all you Asian cinema purists can rest easy.
Synopsis: "DEATH NOTE is based on the popular manga about a young man who finds a mysterious notebook that gives him literal powers of life and death. A smash hit in Japan, it was followed quickly by Kaneko’s sequel DEATH NOTE: THE LAST NAME, to which Viz also has U.S. rights."
