Personally, I've been intrigued by the concept of anomorphosis since I first laid eyes on the work of Salvador Dali who used the technique in many of his surreal paintings. Basically, it's putting a subliminal and distorted image within another which can only be seen from one acute angle or with the use of a special mirrored or metal device. OK, art history lesson over. More on the film after the jump.

This trailer for Henry Miller's new killer thriller, Anamorph, has been out since February; but better late than never I say. Starring Willem Dafoe and Peter Stormare, it is a psychological thriller based on the artistic notion of creating something that has two meanings. Even though it's got a lower budget, it should be getting a wide release due to it's IFC affiliations.

What do you think, could Anamorph be the new Seven?

Synopsis: "A psychological thriller based on the concept of anamorphosis, a painting technique that manipulates the laws of perspective to create two competing images on a single canvas."
