Posted under: post apocalyptic zombie movie news book

Some good news about World War Z as Moriarty over at AICN got his hands on the screenplay and put up a review. Now for those who missed it, Brad Pitt's production company Plan B optioned the film rights to Max Brooks epic, post apocalyptic zombie book which follows a journalist as he collects stories from the zombie war from all around the world. Basically, humanity was decimated and pushed into a corner and after a while decided to fight back, and these are the stories. If you've seen the film The Red Violin you'll have an idea of how beautiful this can be, spanning multiple cultures and pieces of the story which somehow fit together. Moriarty goes so far as to say this could possibly qualify as "best picture material", wow, I think it would be awesome to see a zombie film win an Oscar. There's alot more material to cover and I can't really sum it up right here, so just check after the break to firstshowing's summary and the AICN link.

I'm reading this right now and while I'm not blown away by it, I think it could make a pretty interesting movie... if nothing else, a very original take on the zombie flick.
