The film adaptation of the Oni Press graphic novel 'The Damned' now has a screenwriter, David DiGilio ('Eight Below') has been asked to write the script, based on the comics by Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt. For those who don't know The Damned is a sort of horror-noir, following a Los Angeles detective who discovers a new gang with ties to the supernatural has infiltrated his city. Laurie MacDonald and Walter Parkes are set to produce via Dreamworks, who have also recently picked-up Oni Press' upcoming comic novel "The Return of King Doug" for Ben Stiller to produce (and possibly headline). Other producers for 'The Damned' include Eric Gitter via his Closed on Mondays Entertainment; the film arm of Oni Press and Peter Schwerin who is set to be executive producer.
