Guy Maddin, hugely popular in Canada and known for his 1920's style silent films filled with agitation and the surreal, finally brings us a trailer for his latest, which premiered at TIFF last year. My Winnipeg is what he calls a "docu-fantasia", a semi-fictional look at Guy's own life and the historical events of Winnipeg (by the looks of it, tipping more towards the fictional). Here's what we have for a synopsis: "Told in three strands, chronicles the personal history of filmmaker Guy Maddin against the backdrop of his hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada." Word is it will get a limited release on June 13th. Check after the break for linkage to trailerage.
