quietearth [Celluloid 05.12.08] movie news drama



I hadn't actually heard of this film till today, and while the plot described sounds simple and unattractive, the stills look incredible. Enter the Void was shot in Tokyo talks about how it will accompany the hero just as much in his normal state of awareness as in his altered states: the state of alertness, the stream of consciousness, memories, dream. The script was partially inspired by the accounts of people who have had near-death experiences. But in the director's words, Enter the Void is about a young man who, after the brutal death of his parents, promises that he will protect his little sister no matter what and who, sensing that he himself is dying, fights desperately to keep his promise. A film where the life of one person is linked to the love he has for another human being. Even with all that I still have no idea where it's going, but I'm looking forward to a trailer. Release is set for sometime in 2009. Stills after the break!
