It's too bad quietearth is off gallivanting around Hole in the Head festival in San Fransisco right now because I know how giddy every tidbit of Phantasm news makes him (giddy's probably not the right word but you get what I'm saying). Anyhoo, word is that shocktillyoudrop got a reliable scoop that Anchor Bay was prepping a new edition of Don Coscarelli's Phantasm IV: Oblivion. While this is indeed a step in the right direction, questions still loom as to the whereabouts of Phantasm II, a film that remains absent from my DVD collection to this very day. And yes, I'm well aware of that sweet R2 boxed-set. I just don't want to miss out on the eventual R1 box that will come out out when all this legal mumbo jumbogets settled.
