Alone had a fantastic, classy start, but lost momentum within about 15 minutes. Beautifully designed and lensed, the story suffered from a perfunctory placement of the horror, utilizing very little suspense, and a dead girl that looked strangely similar to the one from The Grudge. I don't consider this much of a horror film, more like something a guy can bring a date to and within 10 minutes of the film finishing, all traces of having seen it vanish. All that said, if you still want to know more, read on.


Starting out in Korea and centered on a Thai woman and her boyfriend, the entire story revolves around 2 siamese twins which were seperated, and at some point one of them died, presumably in surgery. The call comes that her mother has had a stroke and is in a coma, so they head back to Thailand, their home country. Almost immediately we get the scary, supernatural aspect of the dead siamese twin which is trying to kill Pim, the main character in the story. She'll roll over in bed at night and that ghastly face will be looking at her.

Midway through we get the sideline story of Pim and her siamese twin Ploy living in a hospital, being objects of ridicule, and Pim falling in love with a boy. This is very slow paced and deliberate, trying not to give anything away. Pim's sister Ploy is obviously not happy with this whole boyfriend situation and rebels at almost every chance she gets. As it turns out, the man with Pim from the beginning of the story is this young boy. Queue random sightings and attacks from the dead sister, talks with a psychiatrist, and an ending with a "twist" and that about sums it up.

Like I said, I didn't like the film and there's not much too it. It was really a waste of time to watch, and if I wasn't at a fest I would have turned it off. There's nothing more to really say about it, don't bother.
