The Memory Stealers is an independent film written and directed by Kentarô Yamagishi, and it looks like it's his first feature, although IMDB could be wrong on that. It features a heavy amount of CGI, with flying cars and all sorts of other futuristic tech, hence, it looks awesome. This was released in November of last year and will be playing at SIFF, and from what I can put togethere, here's a synopsis: "The near future. Medical technology extends the life of mankind, but on the other hand, Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases are increasing to epidimic proportions. In response, the company "REMUKOPORESHON" is formed to save memories and technology (I think that's it anyways). The backbone of this new technology will be Dr. Letha Gretzky, but she has mysteriously commited suicide. There is a large amount of prize money to steal her memory between two men, Taro and Slash. Will they be able to steal her memories, and save the future of society?" Trailer following.
