While I didn't flip out over Ong Bak the way some people did it's impossible to deny the raw martial arts talent of Tony Jaa. Well he's back to bash more skulls and kick more ass in Ong Bak 2, a film that he's not only starring in, but is directing as well. According to Todd over at Twitch (aka the lucky sods that got their dirty hands on the film's amazing looking promo reel) the sequel has absolutely nothing to do with the storyline of the first which, if you'll recall, was the story of a naive country boy sent into the big city to find the stolen head of his village's ancient statue. Put more simply over at IMDB, Ong Bak 2 is The story of a young Thai boxer who learns the skills and inner meaning of martial arts which sounds like an origin story that perhaps shows the roots of Jaa's original character's skill. Check out the promo reel after the jump.

As I said, Twitch got the exclusive look at the sales reel from Shamongkol and Todd was kind enough to give us the heads up. Travel through the link to check it out... it's really good. Like the first Ong Bak mixed with a little hard core Apocalypto action.
