It occurs to me that the Japanese word Yoroi must translate to something roughly like samurai zombie, meaning they actually have one specific word devoted to this concept, and all I can say is, AWESOME. Samurai Zombie is set to have it's world premier at this year's Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan). I had previously found this in the lineup and passed it by, but our friend The Gomorrahizer passed this along, so I must not be dreaming. From what little we know, this looks like some decked out shogun assassin zombie action. "A family is kidnapped by a couple who have guns. Wandering lost, they get together in a place where there are zombies in samurai armor. Encountering zombies and police, reunited family struggle and get to confront a tragic secret. A fun action-horror on the low budget B-movie." Sakaguchi did fight and action choreography on both Tokyo Gore Police and High School Girl Rika: Zombie Hunter and also directed Be a Man! Samurai School so we're definitely in for a treat. Check for stills after the break.

It kind of bothers me that you think that "Yoroi" is one specific word for Samurai-Zombie. Because "Yoroi" or "O-Yoroi" is the Japanese word for "Great Armor" and was owned by very rich people at the time. So it seems that this movie has come under the western curse of getting its name changed to make it more understandable for westerners.

looks like a great movie though, and I really want to see it. Problem is that its nowhere to be found...
