Posted under: movie trailer apocalyptic news post

I must say I was very impressed with that little springtime teaser for Blindness we brought you back in April. It finally gave us a clear indication of the amazing style and sheer intensity we can expect from Fernando Meirelles' new film adaptation of this now classic apocalyptic book. Of course it's hard not to liken the film's premise to John Wyndham's Day of the Triffids, a book that I've been a great fan of most of my life, but I suppose even without the added suspense of man-eating giant plants, Blindness is still a film that ranks very high on my fall movie must watch list. The film is due to hit theaters on September 16th in Canada (yes!), September 19th in the States, and October in the UK (sorry projectcyclops). Full trailer from Alliance after the break.

I just put this comment under the wrong post. Let me try again!

That is a fantastic trailer, although I hope that's not a giveaway at the end with Ruffalo's lone line.

Wow...that was really good! The premise is so simple yet brilliant, it's head-scratching to think that no one has written a story like this before (to my knowledge).

user icon John Wyndham's The Day of the Triffids predates this by quite a few years.. They made it into a movie and both the BBC and Australia Broadcasting corped turned it into mini-series.

Well at least we get Quantum of Solace first.

Seriously though, this looks pretty promising.
