Last month we were tickled pink to report that Marvel Comics would be adapting Stephen King's seminal PA novel (and one of my personal King faves) The Stand for release this fall. Well, it didn't take, but the good 'ol boys over at AICN are showing off the first released artwork from the upcoming series and will be releasing more over the next 3 days. If anything, illustrator Mike Perkins' artwork shows great attention to detail, which leaves me with high hopes that the series will also treat the characters and story with the same kid-gloves. Between this and the comic version of the Dark Tower series quickly gaining popularity, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw more of King's work translated into comic form. Bring on The Long Walk! For those of you who are interested I'll be updating this post as more images appear over the next few days so check back for more info on The Stand comic series as it's released.
