Word through the scifi wire this morning is that we've got yet another epic science fiction adventure looming on the horizon. According to a story in The Hollywood Reporter, Fox has bought an original spec script by writer Shane Salerno called Doomsday Protocol. While not much is yet known about the film, it is said to be an epic science fiction adventure in the vein of “The Seven Samurai” involving a group of aliens and humans with various abilities who are brought together to save Earth. So it's a vaguely apocalyptic scifi epic hey? I'm in! Of course the story of Seven Samurai has been taken to the stars before, so I'm wondering; is this in fact a remake of the Roger Corman produced Battle Beyond the Stars? If so, they better bring back Richard Thomas!
