Ready for a bit of a history lesson? In 1974, French filmmaker Jean-Pierre Gorin fell in love with Philip K. Dick's philosophical mind-f*@# "Ubik" and tried to make it into a film. He contacted Dick and commissioned him to adapt his own novel into a filmable screenplay; which Dick did in only 10 months. Of course, that film was never made, but the screenplay was published about 10 years later and very quickly went out of print again - that is, until now.

In what I consider to be an awesome move (as copies of the screenplay fetch anywhere up to 100 smackers on auction sites), the good people of Subterranean Press have decided to re-published the screenplay! You can find out more about the book and order it from amazon here

Now I know what you're thinking and yes, it was announced that Celluloid Dreams would be moving a film version of Ubik into production as early as 2009 but, while they haven't officially announced a writer for the project, I highly doubt they're planning on using Dick's original screenplay.
