"We're through the looking glass here people." Those famous words from Millhouse are the only ones that have the power to answer this obvious question; 'in what world do we get excited about a McG movie?' Because, here we are; half a year since the announcement that the director of Charlie's Angels would be taking the franchise into the apocalypse and hopes are running frickin' high. The first teaser blew our minds and, even though McG lied about having Cameron's full endorsement on the project, he miraculously still feels like the right man for the job.

The G-man has updated the official Salvation blog with the news that the film is working through some post-production and we decided to re-print some highlights.

This film is so much more that just Los Angeles. It reflects the global crisis of man, all of man versus machine.

I've already shown early cuts to Christian and Sam. They seem pleased with where the film is headed. Our focus is on story and character, but it's fun diving into the world of visual effects.

We want the patina of the machines to be dirty and heavy and perfectly realistic - that's why we built so much practically with Stan Winston...There's one sequence in particular where we're trying to achieve something that's never been done before. I don't want to talk about it because we haven't been successful yet...

But we're working on it.
