So we've been eagerly awaiting this remake for like a year now and, in the meanwhile the press have called it "bloody brilliant", but this first teaser is a serious letdown. It looks like an episode of 24 crossed with a wet Hollywood dream. Ok ok, maybe I'm being a bit harsh as it does look convincingly post apocalyptic, but still, all those beautiful people? C'mon, didn't someone ugly survive? For those who've been living in a cave, Survivors is a remake of the hugely popular Terry Nation show which lasted 3 seasons back in the 70s. It's all about a virus which wipes out the majority of the population.

Word is the first ninety minute episode of Survivors will broadcast at 9pm, on Sunday 23 November 2008 on BBC1. Episode two would then transmit at 9m, on Tuesday 25 November 2008 on BBC1.

Teaser after the break, thanks to Wilcoy for the heads up, via the Survivors blog.

UPDATE: The official BBC website is now live with a 30 second trailer clip, so GO GET IT!

I must admit I'm a little disappointed. This trailer does a poor job at setting up both the scenario and the world.

I still believe the show will be good though. Will it be the work of staggering genius I want it to be? I'll wait and see what our British readers say come November 24th.
