Perkins 14 is a something of a first in the world of horror. A film that harnessed the power of social media from concept to casting, it was created from the ground up at massify.com where members submitted story pitches, poster art, audition tapes and opinion to mold the film. Will this style of film-by-committee filmaking work well enough to change the industry? I remain skeptical, especially considering how poorly Snakes on a Plane turned out. But, I am interested to see Perkins 14 and hey, the poster art turned out pretty darn great.
Ronald Perkins builds an army of 14 people brainwashed through cult-like methods to protect him from his parents' killers. When Perkins is imprisoned, the police unwittingly unleash his followers on a small town and they've only got one thing on their mind: "Kill for Mr. Perkins."
Perkins 14, is another great looking film premiering at the After Dark Film festival: 8 Films to Die For (January 9-15). Trailer after the break.
