Posted under: movie trailer news action

The first trailer for Green Street 2: Stand Your Ground (sequel to the 2005 football hooliganism flick Green Street Hooligans which stared Elijah Wood) dropped a week back and somehow we missed it. Oddly enough, the only reason I found it at all is because it's being directed by Jesse V. Johnson who wrote the recent PA actioner The Last Sentinel and I was looking for some info on his next film Charlie Valentine.

Following the deadly climax of "Green Street Hooligans," several members of the West Ham firm and numerous members of Millwall end up in jail. The GSE quickly discover the brutality of life on the inside, as they are constant targets of the superior numbers and better-financed Millwall crew. Football on the inside and out is followed fervently by the prisoners and wins and losses by both are quickly followed by punishment or reward. This could mean a beating or an extra shower or a day of visitation, which inspires extreme behavior. When overcrowding compels a need for the early release of a fortunate few, fate brings West Ham and Millwall together again this time on a Pitch. The stakes are the highest they have ever been for all concerned with death or freedom quite literally a goal away. Game on.

You can watch the trailer in glorious lo-def after the break or in HD at the Odd Lot Entertainment website.

bull****.
the cast is ****e, and the story more than weak.
judging by the trailer, its also fully glorifying violence, as opposed to the first trailer where we saw at least the protagonist struggle with the brutal world he was thrown into. they all seem to love it.

Wow, did they even do any research on the British penal system.
Did they do any research or just ask 2 monkey's to write it, after they finished the first series of survivors.

user icon Feels more like a remake of that British film "Victory" with Michael Caine where the inmates of a prison play the guards. But yeah, they're obviously using hooligan violence to market the film. Feels more macho Americanized than English to me but that just might be the prison setting.

I didn't find Green Street Hooligans to be an authentic movie about Casuals subculture.

They should've read this book first

Green Street was a hilariously unrealistic look at football casuals, with the emphasis on hilarious - I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll look forward to the sequel, it looks even more stupid!

Wow, they've let the yanks get a hold of green street 2 haha.

The first one was absolutely brutal, it was almost unthinkable that a film could be rehashed and any more unrealistic than the first green street... congratulations America.

I loved the first one. Amazing movie. This sequel had better be more interesting than the trailer or I'm going to be thoroughly disappointed.

trash! the first one was crap and this looks like a bad sequel to a bad movie. The Football Factory was a pile aswell.

if you want to watch a football hooligan film then go watch The Firm...

Alan Clarke and Gary Oldman need i say more?

What a load of ****. the first was the worse film and didn't do the hooligan world any justice and the 2nd is even worse. You yanks know how to **** it up big time. Football factory is the only film that bring it like it was. end of.

Blame the Americans for not portraying soccer hooliganism like it really is, who cares first of all. It's a ****in movie. Most of the time movies aren't real anyway so why care? You ****in red coats don't have any respect do ya? It's a movie for christ sakes....

Bowvar should have been in the sequel with a renewed sense of loyalty considering his actions ultimately led to the death of his best friend Pete.
