I remember reading about the BBC 3s supernatural take on Thirty Something waaay the heck last year but figured it had just bombed like so many other awesome pilots of its ilk. However, it would appear that the Torchwood meets Peep Show, Being Human, actually scored wild ratings and will be premiering its first episode of six (that's a full season by English standards) on February 1 2009.

Being Human is about George, Mitchell and Annie, three seemingly normal flatmates struggling to keep their dark secrets from the world, and follows their struggle to fight both their curses and the enemies who want to bring them down.

The entire pilot has been available on youtube - chopped up into numerous parts - for a while but we'll let you find that on your own. For now we've got the trailer after the break and if your into learning more about the show you can check out its official BBC page. Thanks to QE reader Frankenstein for the heads up.

u should probably have mentioned that all of the original cast dropped out after the pilot, apart from george, the werewolf.

user icon Honestly I didn't know that. I knew about the show but I certainly didn't follow it's evolution closely. More homework next time I guess and maybe a quick stop off at wikipedia should do it. Thanks for the info Pat.

I watched the repeat first show last night on BBC 3. I was quite shocked at how much i enjoyed it! I am not at all a fan of Dr Who or Touchwood(They are aimed at the younger gen)but i think this is something i could really get into. Well done BBC!

On a side note i really enjoy how the Werewolf effects are very much 'American Werewolf in London'(One of my favorite films!).

have been promised this was coming by friends at the beeb for months, and was slightly disappointed. lets hope it picks up

yes its mostly a new cast, which is annoying when your sat trying to work out what's different.

as for the first episode it seemed quite lazy tbh and treaded a lot of the same water as the pilot, it would have benefited from showing the pilot again first and they probably didn't due to the cast continuity.

I'm watching the pilot (2008) right now. I like it, but I'm surprised the ghost and vampire have been recast.
