We've been waiting on this one for 2 years now so it better be good! It stars none other then Ken Foree (original Dawn of the Dead) and a whole bunch of other people we don't really care about, because, that's like the original Pete. Woohoo! I have to say that this does actually look like a real zombie film.. will it become a classic?

A police-escorted prisoner transport supervised by Interpol sets off to Belgrade. The route leads the transport through Pancevo, where they encounter an ecological disaster and infected people who are trying to kill them. Interpol agents Mortimer Reyes and Mina Milius soon realize that their only chance for escape from the zombie hordes lies in allying with the dangerous, mysterious prisoner.

Trailer after the break.

Why do they speak English? It makes it a little pathetic those accents.

"Die zombie bastard."

Ok. Why not? I'm interested. Plus the zombies look kinda awesome. Was that a head and spine coming back to life in that one scene? Word.

Zone of the Dead premiered here in Belgrade last night and is well worth the wait. The film's main influences - Dawn of the Dead and Assault on Precinct 13 - are impeccable, the camerawork's excellent and the narrative holds together well. Moreover, considering the budget cannot have been anything like on a Hollywood scale, the zombies and gore effects are top quality. Ken Foree's as good as ever and the whole things been filmed in (occasionally quirky) English. What more do you want? Seek it out!

Hmmm. I will have to wait and see, I think. The sound quality's pretty subpar, and the makeups aren't that great. Acting, well, Ken Foree is actually looking really good, and it's great to see him again. Also, it's not pronounced "Baatin". It's pronounced "Boateen". Sheesh.
