Jaume Collet-Serra's upcoming creepy kid flick Orphan feels a lot like a re-imagining of The Omen with a girl in the place of that devil boy.
The tragic loss of their unborn child has devastated Kate and John, taking a toll on both their marriage and Kate’s fragile psyche as she is plagued by nightmares and haunted by demons from her past. Struggling to regain some semblance of normalcy in their lives, the couple decides to adopt another child. At the local orphanage, both John and Kate find themselves strangely drawn to a young girl named Esther. Almost as soon as they welcome Esther into their home, however, an alarming series of events begins to unfold, leading Kate to believe that there’s something wrong with Esther—this seemingly angelic little girl is not what she appears to be. Concerned for the safety of her family, Kate tries to get John and others to see past Esther’s sweet facade. But her warnings go unheeded until it may be too late…for everyone.
The film, produced by Warner Brothers and starring Vera Farmiga, Peter Sarsgaard, and Isabelle Fuhrman, is set to drop July 24, 2009. Trailer after the break.

as the adopted parent of 5 this is a little uneal although adopting older childrren is not without its very real problems ! the movie looks good though

this movie looks like it's gonna be terrible. i mean, not the kind of super-scary kind of terrible, i mean The Unborn or The Uninvited kind of terrible. it's gonna be that kind of terrible where the awful quality of the movie is what will give you nightmares.

The movie is absolutely amazing with an extraordinary plot!....DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THIS MOVIE!..............
It's not even about the devil or evil forces which makes it even more scary. The little girl is actually a 33 year old woman who has some rare dwarfism that makes her smaller than ppl her age. Oh Yea she is also a psycho who tries to seduce married men and when they don't bite..she kills them and their family.I was frustrated b/c it's the standard: one parent has their suspicions but b/c of their past the other parent doesn't believe them.
