Shortly after telling you about one of my 5 favorite films of last year finally becoming available comes word that my FAVORITE film of last year, the brilliant and visceral Pop Skull, will finally be seeing a North American release. Wild Bunch, one of the finest backers/agents for genre material on the planet, had picked up sales rights for the film and I thought it would languisbh forever, but no more! Pop Skull is now slated for a limited theatrical run followed by a DVD release on July 28th. Below is the synopsis.

Pop Skull depicts the lonely and disjointed life of Daniel, a young Alabama pill addict, as his efforts to cope with the trials of his day-to-day life collide with the increasing influence of murderous and displaced spirits that inhabit his home.
