One of the best weeks for DVDs in a while is official upon us so listen closely and listen good people.

One of our favorite films of last year, Cthulhu (review here) is finally getting a wide DVD release from Liberation Entertainment so check it out. This really is a fantastic debut film by Dan Gildark. Also, don't forget to enter our exclusive Cthulhu contest.

Next we have Timecrimes, the Spanish time travel thriller which was also my second favorite film of last year. Here's hoping Magnet didn't mess up the subs on this one like they did on Let the Right One In a few weeks back.

Then of course we have the After Dark Horrorfest III: 8 Films to Die For (part one of our review here) boxed set. Featuring eight of the year's most innovative horror films, the After Dark set features some truly great scare flicks from around the world.

Another film I've been dying to see is Special starring Michael Rapaport. It's about this dude who takes part in an experimental drug test and gets some truly weird side effects; super powers! No it's not a straight up comedy, but an existential drama. Can't wait.

Next we have a couple of long overdue retro DVD release. The first is The Cremator (Spalovac mrtvol), a Czechoslovakian film from 1968 that won Best Actor and Best Cinematography awards at the 1972 Sitges Film Festival. I think the DVD has an intro by the Quay Brothers as well though I may be wrong. I'll look into that. The other retro disc is The Sinful Dwarf one of the sleaziest little people flicks ever. It comes to us from the grindhouse know-it-alls from Severen Films. Seriously, check out the trailer. It's got a 2.7 rating on IMDB so you know I'm dying to see this thing.

Last but certainly not least we have a couple of interesting zombie titles. Anchor Bay's Tokyo Zombie, and Halo 8's animated series Xombie: Dead on Arrival which looks crazy fun.

Whew, well that's it folks. Trailers and stuff after the break!
