Here's an interesting, albeit confusing, bit of morning PA news. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox has acquired the rights to Alan Weisman's scientific non-fiction book, "The World Without Us" that looks at what the world might look like if humans suddenly vanished. I say confusing because Fox is interested in turning it, not into a documentary, but into a tentpole feature for Mark Protosevich to write and Francis Lawrence to direct; the idea being that the film would show an event that would lead to man's disappearance. How Protosevich will get around the fact that this essentially eliminates the book's core premise remains to be seen.

Weisman's book is similar to The History Channel's Life Without People which aired last year.

For more information on the book you can check out it's official website
