Before you get all up in our grill about covering this awesome looking coming of age flick you should know that first time director Derick Martini has written episodes of Flash Gordon. So there, he's got his genre cred locked down. Not that he needs it with a film that looks this good of course.
Based on the true childhood experiences of director Derick Martini, Lymelife is set in the 70’s, and is seen through the innocent eyes of 15-year old Scott Bartlett. A unique coming of age story, Lymelife explores first love, last love and the dangers of the American Dream. This hilarious, violent and sometimes tragic look at family dynamics weaves an intricate tapestry of American life during a time of drastic economic and emotional change. Award Winning and Critically acclaimed, Lymelife features a magnificent ensemble cast who make you laugh and cry along with them.
Lymelife has been playing sporadically around the states and has been getting good reviews. It stars Alec Baldwin too who, if you've ever watched 30 Rock you'll know, is a hilarious force to be reckoned with. Check out the trailer after the break.
