Another film which has been well received is the UK backed Fish Tank which has been called a social realist drama and has been high on my list of must-sees after I saw stills. This looks as utterly fascinating as last years Cannes premier Better Things or the brilliant (and one of my favorite films) Everything is Fine.

The story of Mia, a volatile 15-year-old, who is always in trouble and who has become excluded from school and ostracized by her friends. One hot summer's day her mother brings home a mysterious stranger called Connor, who promises to change everything and bring love into all their lives.

gd representation of contemp. britain.
i love michael fassbender but he looks very out of place in this. also choice of music is a little strange. those sort of people, i know to many of them, would never listen to those songs. especially not james brown.
