1 and 0 nly director Martyn Park describes his own film as; "an operatic avant-garde journey into non-existence; madness. A science fiction drama in the vein of Metropolis, Solyaris, 2001: A Space Odyssey and Baraka."

Comparing one's self to Kubrick, Tarkovsky, and Fritz Lang? Pretty ballsy. However, after viewing the film's trailers it's hard to deny that Park seems to be after a lot of the same philosophical answers as the above mentioned auteurs. On a tighter budget of course. Personally, I see more of a connection to the indie sensibilities of Aronofsky's Pi.

Synopsis:
1 dying planet. 1 species too many. 1 man’s solution. To restore balance, all humans must die.

Lieutenant Professor Frank James Morley: scientist, environmentalist, genius, lives alone and isolated on an uncharted island 189 nautical miles from the mainland. Within his self-imposed monastic and ritualistic existence, he blindly focuses on what is important - the final stages of his plan to unleash a device that will destroy all human DNA.

At a different time, the present, a child-like facsimile of Frank struggles to compute the meaning and logic to creation and existence. Is this the next stage in the evolution of humanity, or something else?

Good idea, Mike. The paucity of action in contemporary film is intolerable.
