Christopher Webster [Celluloid 06.19.09] movie news scifi poster horror

I can't think of an upcoming film that's had quite as aggressive an ad campaign as Christian Alvart's Pandorum. This latest poster for the Event Horizon-style space horror may have less tubes protruding from body-parts but its depiction of a screaming woman, trapped in a shuddering Jacob's Ladder style limbo is certainly no less intense.

Synopsis:
Pandorum tells the terrifying story of two crew members stranded on a spacecraft who quickly realize they are not alone. Two astronauts awaken in a hyper-sleep chamber aboard a seemingly abandoned spacecraft. It's pitch black, they are disoriented, and the only sound is a low rumble and creak from the belly of the spacecraft. They can't remember anything - who are they, what is their mission? The only way out of the chamber is a dark and narrow air-shaft.

Corporal Bower, the younger of the two, crawls inside, while the other, Lt. Payton, stays behind for guidance on a radio transmitter. As Bower ventures deeper and deeper into the ship, he begins to uncover a terrifying reality. Slowly the spacecraft's shocking and deadly secrets come unraveled, and the astronauts realize that the survival of mankind hinges on their actions.

I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to spending some quality time with actors Dennis Quaid (Vantage Point), Ben Foster (3:10 to Yuma), Cam Gigandet (Twilight), Cung Le (Tekken), Antje Traue and director Christian Alvart (Antibodies) on their creepy, rickety old spaceship come September. The design of the film is simply awesome.

Have a look at all the posters after the break.
