We first reported on this film back in November with only a few stills and synopsis, and ever since then I've been eagerly awaiting a trailer which I finally found today. The trailer is 8 minutes long and makes the film look like an incredibly slow, poignant drama which clearly falls into the arthouse category and includes incredible production design. From what I can gather, it's about a society where half the people live at night, and the other by day which implies inequality. This seems to be a major theme coming out of Mexico right now.

The story happens in the future and shows us how Mexico has changed: since everything is handled differently, we are very controlled and uniform, we are all equal and there is no physical contact or emotion. The government keeps the people repressed.

Furthermore, as a result of an enzyme located in the DNA, half the people left in cataleptic state to leave the sun, while the other half awake. (This is roughly translated). [So I'm guessing half the people live by day, and the other half by night.] However, emotions have not completely disappeared, only being anesthetized by the way of life to which they have been subjected by the authorities. Also, one of the characters Aurora meets a young man who works in the same place as her, but at night, and they fall in love.

Trailer after the break.
