UPDATE: Without a word, Bruce just sent me the first picture from his film. While we still don't know anything, we can add graveyard to our obvious list of zombies and homo-zombo-erotocism. Hopefully he'll be willing to give up more details soon. Thanks Bruce!

UPDATE 2: I can't tweet right now for some reason, but we just got another update from Bruce. He did an art installation called "Untitled Hardcore Zombie Project" which we have video for after the break. (Further details here) He also revealed the still is of international model and porn star Francois Sagat who plays the "alien zombie creature". And here's a great quote to top it off: "While touring the world with the film [Otto] I found myself in interviews making the lofty pronouncement that I believe zombie porn is the wave of the future, and that we will soon routinely see porous, corrupted flesh being penetrated by legions of lascivious zombies."

UPDATE 3: On the second day of shooting, Bruce reports they shot Francois Sagat "as a homeless person standing in a soup line that went around the block."

That's right folks, Bruce La Bruce, the genius behind Otto; or, Up With Dead People (review) just said on twitter: "1st day of shooting completed on LA Zombie. Typically hectic 1st day but got some great footage. Always a relief to get something in the can." That's after a few days of tweeting about scouting locations in LA. I thought he was doing Von Gloeden next, but honestly, I'm glad he's doing this instead. According to this Dazed Digital interview, Bruce has a big thing for zombies, just like most of us.

What can we say as we LOVED Otto? We're looking forward to his next!

Rob - Nobody's making you watch the trailer or click the images, and nobody's going to force you to watch the movie. There's nothing explicit above the fold. If you can't handle just being *aware* of it, then maybe you should seek help for whatever repressed issues you're fighting.

QE will be better off without you, frankly.

Wow Bob. You're so close-minded. The jacking off in front of the Union Jack is pretty lame. I'm so tired of wannabe artists trying to shock, and say it's art. So brave. And, it's not art. This is a ridiculous installation piece. I hate subjective artists. Also, the image is pretty crappy as well. Love the grey skin, so 80's.

Quite frankly Bob, you can go to hell. If I want to go to a porn site, I go to a porn site. I don't link my friends to sites that review and promote pornos. As for Quiet Earth being better off without me, I agree. You can keep your porn and phwap to your heart's content. It's a definite plus for the sites credibility. You;re probably phwapping all over your keyboard as we speak.

This is one of those issues that people could debate over for an age, I think with La Bruce you pretty much take it or leave it. Don't bash QE for reporting on this, it is news and for some it's good news. My old mother always said, "Don't have anything nice to say? Then shut-the-f-ck-up."

Rob - The fact remains there's nothing forcing you to watch the "porn" linked in this article. It's a shame for you and your "friends" that you aren't mature enough to accept responsibility: there's no overt porn in this article, but still knowing the context you evidently watched the video and now aren't adult enough to admit it's your own fault. Or maybe you're just so reactionary you're offended that the *text* mentions porn?

Hmm, okay guys, seriously, what are you expecting to accomplish with bashing QE with this? They obviously feel this movie is worth mentioning. And for some of us it is. The fact that QE is writing about something as far out as this sounds just makes this blog even more amazing in its ability to find movies no other site seems to have discovered. You can't really like every movie they post. (I sure don't)

Just because YOU don't find it interesting doesn't mean everyone doesn't. People really need to realize just because they view something a certain way doesn't make it the only way. In this case I can understand if there's people who do not want to see this. But the fact remains that QE reported on it without posting anything offensive unless you decided to watch the trailer. Like Bob wrote, no one is forcing you to read every article or watch every trailer posted here.

If you can't handle a movie blog occasionally posting zombie arthouse eroticism then you really have no other choice but to leave this blog alone. Most of us appreciate that QE is posting all kinds of stuff and they (hopefully) won't change just because some random reader can't handle the existence of a certain movie.

A lot of you guys are missing the point. I have been sending links to my friends and co-workers. People know that I read this blog. Now if they decide to check the site then they get Porn, it makes me look bad, it makes the site look bad. I was just trying to convey to the editors, that pushing pornos is bad for the site. If you, as a commenter, are to stupid to grasp this concept then I feel sorry for you. So to those that say that I shouldn't be here, you are right. I'm going to stop frequenting this site and recomending it to other people. I just thought that the editors should know and I addressed the issue in the comments. End of story. Dimwits like Bob say nobody is forcing me to be hear, very true. But this is the first time i've seen zombie porn here and I just wanted to make the issue known. Good day.

It is a rather trite saying, but Bob did sum it up best; if you don't like the occasional, rare movie like this that gets mentioned here, feel free to stick to IMDB.

Although, IMDB also lists porn movies, many more so than here... So I guess you won't have anywhere to go for movie info... That's a shame ;)

Lol, again, with the people who have problems with our comments. Look at you making snide remarks like " like some cheese with that whine"! I never bashed QE. I love this site, actually. Just wondered if this was the new direction ala their earlier posting regarding avant garde direction. It's funny that you guys hate dissenters when it's dissenting zombie porn : P Rob makes some good points, and it's a shame he's leaving. Oh well, life goes on.

Okay, being against the site writing about porn might be a bit valid. I can understand that people might be against that (while I personally don't as long as there's some sort of artistic or genre slant in the movies).

But do you seriously believe this will escalate to a point where QE starts posting news about random porn movies? From what I've read about this particular movie it sounds more like an art-house movie containing sex and nudity (along with zombies). I'm pretty sure the reason they feel this movie belongs on the site is the zombies and the art-house angle, not the porn.

And personally (and I hope most people will agree with me on this) the fact that they will even write about an art-house homo-erotic movie just strengthens the sites credibility. Now I feel I can really trust this place in pointing me towards ANY kind of movie.

But if you really feel that embarrassed about sending links to colleagues and friends because there might be a mention or two about movies with sex in you really only have two options; Stop sending links to friends or stop reading the blog altogether.

But you can always explain to your friends that there might be a post about movies like this but you really just read the blog for the other movies. I'm sure they'll understand you're not some kind of sex-crazy pervert.

Enjoy the blog for all the fantastic movies they find and try ignoring the movies you don't like. That's really the best option for everyone.

Rob, if the discussion of films with (homo)sexual content distresses you so thoroughly, perhaps you are best served going elsewhere. For everyone else, we understand that it's art, even if it's exploitation, like many of the films regularly featured here.

Didn't you say you were going to stop frequenting this site? You responded rather quickly. And you responded to someone else's comment as well. Sounds like you're just one of those typical whiny posters who throws a fit and claims they're going to leave a site and never return (yet they still post).

I think andrew hit the nail on the head. Does seem rob and skin's homophobia are seeping out. If you really had an issue with "pornographic" material, I doubt you would still be here because I'm willing to bet there have been tons of movies posted that have contained plenty of heterosexual sex, rape and full frontal female nudity.

@ Skinstripper: Nope, rob doesn't make any valid points. You'll be hard pressed to find any movie review/preview site that doesn't have plenty of movies listed that contain sex and nudity. IMDB, again, being one of the largest sites that contains plenty of them both. And I'm willing to bet both he and you visit that site, yet don't throw fits over the "obscene" material you can find there ;)

Heh, Anonymous. You make me chuckle. Again, you people get personal. Sad, really. Again, you turn around and attack the critics. I don't have a problem with homosexual zombie porn. It's just made for shock factor, and I expect more from my serious films. It's a joke. Just because it's zombie homoerotica doesn't make it serious. Actually, the only thing I reacted to strongly when I saw it was the gratuitous muching on dead bunny rabbits. Just keeping the camera on the face of the zombie while he was eating roadkill was a LAME attempt at shock. I would think they could film it where actually eating a HUMAN would be shocking. Oh well, goes to show you their perspective. Oh, and I thrive on arthouse films. Just good ones. Not tripe.
