Actor, screenwriter and friend to Quiet Earth, Paul Sloan (whose amazing SPIHON screenplay is once again making the rounds after our review), just dropped us a line to let us know that his latest pulp horror script, King of Vampires, has been optioned by director Nick Vallelonga. Describing its tone as Expendables meets Dusk Till Dawn (awesome), the film has even secured some creature FX wizardry in True Blood's award-winning Todd Masters. Extra nice.

Synopsis:
Story is "Heart Of Darkness"- style tale involving a band of mercenaries searching the jungles of Cambodia for a mysterious warlord rumored to be The Last King Of The Undead.

We are also eagerly awaiting the arrival of Sloan's post-apocalyptic noir, Tribes of October, which begins filming under the direction of Phillipe Martinez in, ironically, October.
