I've got a bad feeling about this

MAN O MAN! Just what i wanted to see. Yeah, imdb has some other good reviews up as well. Still..those moments captured on film above are pretty steller! Haha.

I'm really not worried it sounds like this person didn't read the book, so thay where pretty blind sided by the sheer bleakness of the movie. This movie looks so far it stayed pretty true to the book. If they did this is not going to be everybody’s cup of tea, especially the furry animals and sunshine crowd.

This is still a wait and see movie for me. The reviewer sounded like a fan of the book who was disappointed that the movie was toned down and somewhat changed to make it more palatable to audiences lulled into a stupor by films such as The Road Warrior. He might be right, but it still doesn't sound like a disaster or anything bad like that.

Reading this from the review . . . '(the book's two most ghastly images have been dispensed with, however)' . . . I'm guessing one of those images is the newborn baby bbq? Have they really bottled it and chopped that out? Seems criminal if so, a scene of ultimate barbarism und loss of humanity which however shocking is an important extreme. It serves to reflect the complete opposite relationship the man has with his own child as well being a punch in the gut even harder than the cellar food people.

Anyway, I love versus hate these final weeks before a much anticipated film. After all the speculation and intrigue comes the excitement of impending revelation. The how soon is now factor ramping up before that hit of strange calm that only a post apocalyptic landscape delivered on a cinematic silver screen scale can bring!

Meanwhile on the otherside of town, a positive if somewhat bland review . . .

When I read the screenplay the BBQ baby was in it, so if they took it out it was a studio decision. Also there was NO narration in it.

I think it looks ace. ACE I tell you. Thats not a word I use lightly.

Telluride Film Festival in Colorado will be showing "THE ROAD" this weekend. Most of the critics are somewhat quirky so we should get some more reviews and perspective.

If they did take the infant cannibalism scene out, it was probably because something like that would push the movie from a "R" to a "NC-17", something no studio wants for a major release. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the DVD release is going to have a lot of additional footage.

Man, I do NOT remember that BBQ scene from the book. I need to reread.

Was that a Wilhelm Scream in the trailer? I don't remember that from the book!
