The lineup has been announced for the 53rd edition of the London Film Festival. What are the highlights you ask?

Galas & Special screenings:
Jane Campion's Cannes premierer Bright Star.
Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Micmacs.
The Road. Need I say more on this one?
Cannes premier and Grand Prix Winner Un Prophete. (review)

Films on the Square:
Paul King's highly anticapted inside road trip comedy Bunny and the Bull.
Gaspar Noé's Enter the Void, which didn't do to well at Cannes.
Charlene Yi's hilarious pseud-doc Paper Heart. I've seen it, and yes, it's great.

New British Cinema:
The Disappearance of Alice Creed which is premiering at TIFF and I've heard great things about.
Teen obsession thriller Kicks which premiered at EIFF which our own projectcyclops dug. (review)
The world premier of Tom Harper's debut feature The Scouting Book for Boys which stars Thomas Turgoose from Somers Town and This is England.
Locarno winner She, A Chinese. (review)
Nicolas Refn's Valhalla Rising which is premiering at TIFF.. and the word ain't good.

Cinema Europa:
The weird Greek flick Dogtooth. Review coming from L'Etrange soon.
Tree hopping heartbreak flick Ivul which I still want to see. (review)
Swedish animated dydstopic flick Metropia. (review)

World Cinema:
Joko Anwar's utterly awesome Forbidden Door. (review)

And much more!

Soooo many good movies.. I'm missing out on this years Stockholm Film Festival (for the first time in 6 years!) so LFF sounded like a good substitute. But I decided to work instead as I need the money... ;(

But damn if I don't want to go now...MicMacs, Bunny and the Bull, Metropia, The Road, Valhalla Rising, Up in the Air, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Cold Souls, The Limits of Control, Mother...

Incredible.
