SyFy's new made-for-TV version of Stephen King's "Children of the Corn" has finally been trailerized and the joke is that it looks about on par with the original that was made in 1984 - the acting's hammy and there's lots and lots of corn. I've always liked the novella however and so I'll probably check this out eventually. Maybe when Anchor Bay releases in on DVD on October 6.

Synopsis:
When a young couple find themselves stranded in the isolated community of Gatlin, Nebraska, they discover that all of the town's adults have been slaughtered by a religious cult of twisted children who worship a mysterious cornfield deity. Can these adults escape the fanatical wrath of these adolescent zealots, or will they become the next blood sacrifices to 'He Who Walks Behind The Rows'?

Syfy's Children of the Corn stars Kandyse McClure and David Anders and airs this weekend, Saturday, September 26 at 9/8C only on Syfy.

Trailer after the break.

I remember reading that story in Night Shift and loving it. Then seeing the movie and being a bit creeped out, but ultimately disappointed.

This trailer is just terrible on so many levels, including the voice of the announcer. So much for that.

The movie is just as bad as the trailer!
