We've had our eye on this unique looking web-series for a while now, but were just waiting for an extended trailer to drop. luckily, co-creator Ryan Copple just passed along the first trailer so it's finally time to share!
Riese is a truly original looking new web-series that blends steampunk and fantasy with our genre of choice. It was filmed using the cutting-edge technology of the RED One camera system so is looks stunning and much more along the lines of something you'd find on SyFy than on the web. Though that feeling could just be because the show's cast includes such SyFy tv luminaries as Sanctuary's Christine Chatelain and Stargate: Atlantis' Ben Cotton.
Synopsis:
Riese is a Sci-Fi/Fantasy web series chronicling the journey of a traveler named Riese. A seemingly random wanderer, she flees across the dying lands of Eleysia with her father’s wolf, Fenrir, at her side. On her trail is The Sect, a terrifying religious organization who have spread throughout the world. Sent by Empress Amara, new ruler of Eleysia, she and The Sect will stop at nothing to find her. Their reasons for hunting her, however, are unknown.
The show's cast also includes Sharon Taylor (Stargate: Atlantis, Smallville), Patrick Gilmore (Stargate: Universe, Battlestar Galactica, Intelligence) and Ryan Robbins (Sanctuary, Battlestar Gallactica, The Guard).
Episodes begin airing November 2nd so keep watch at the series' official website.

"...much more along the lines of something you'd find on SyFy..."
Indeed. It looks EXACTLY like something you'd find on SyFy. And that's NOT a good thing. I realize it's a web series, so the standards aren't exactly very high, but still... Since when has "looks like something you'd find on SyFy" become a compliment?

Dude, have you watched shows on SyFy like Sanctuary and SGU? They're amazing. And this looks amazing, web series or not.
